Lots going on with political candidates working hard in their last week to get out that one extra vote that will send them to the respective jobs they are vying for. For me the end of the political season means an end to huge amount of political/candidate mailers that have plagued our mail carriers, our recycling bins, etc. Not to mention the barrage on television. Will be glad to see them go.

But that's not what this post is about, it is about something far more important and exciting. What is that you may ask?

Faithlife has launched its newest release of Logos Bible software. I have been a strong support of Logos and user of their Bible software since 2004. It is truly an incredible tool in order to study God's Word and grow in your relationship with the Father. I have seen the jump in ability from Logos 3 to Logos 4 and the incremental improvements through Logos 7. But Logos 8 is a complete and total jump on its own. They have incorporated new tools to dig into scripture to learn and grow. Not only have they revamped their PC and MAC desktop versions, but they release simultaneously new versions of their Mobile apps (Android and iOS), and the web app at http://app.logos.com. All of this occurred on Monday, October 29th.

There is so much that they have improved or enhanced to make using resources from your library that the thought that Logos is a digital assistant becomes so much more apparent. Although I have been busy reviewing some of Morris Proctor's quick start videos - for those unfamiliar with Morris Proctor, he is the official Logos trainer (https://mpseminars.com) and spent only a few hours reviewing this latest update. I am increasingly excited about this latest offering from Logos.

I plan to in the weeks ahead to provide some further reviews of different aspects of Logos 8. In the meantime, click the Logos 8 link to the right to go directly to Faithlife's site and see.

Be blessed and we'll see you soon.kwshawverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00451421685604641074noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8593498008857849031.post-5743645593865637622018-06-03T00:13:00.001-07:002018-06-03T00:30:16.764-07:00Arise Watchmen for Christ
Hello, I have been away for far too long. I started writing this blog in 2009 and realized my last entry was seven years ago. Sadly the times between my last entry and now have been years of turmoil and confusion. Christians are not immune to being lost in the wilderness. l will not bore anyone with the details, but suffice it to say l have been struggling. So l am asking for prayer so l can once again take my place on the wall.

2018 has brought some fresh clarity to my life. My wife and l had for some time been searching for a home church which we did right around the holidays last year. Of course when you believe God has brought you someplace, the enemy tries to throw a wrench in it. That's what happened in March. l had a major sinus infection that put me in the hospital, just as we were joining a small group at an church. Long story short we missed the entire session because of being ill and surgery. What l realized was God placed us there, because we met people there who didn't know us but were there praying for us.

lt is amazing how spiritually uplifting this can be. It has been a revitalization and renewing of my heart to grow in the Word.

Although it is not bad to enjoy things in God's world, they should not be your primary focus. One "must" invest in ones spiritual growth. It takes time and energy.

So begins a new chapter as l pick up where l left off in pursuit of God's plan. Please join me in praying for God's guidance, wisdom, and direction in the hearts and minds of believers. For the safety and preservation of Israel, Finally, that America will turn it heart and allegiance back to the Father.

In Christ - Amen

Sadly I don't think so. Too many people seem to be totally complacent about the attack or that it could happen again.

America is at war. It isn't about territory, but ideological. Whether you want to accept it or not America was founded on Jude--Christian foundations. These beliefs are 180 degrees from Islam. Islamic extremists want to impose an Islamic state in the U.S. using sharia laws. Don't believe it that Islam is a peaceful religion. All you need to do is read what their tenets say in the quran and hadith.

Unfortunately many who follow Islam have been deceived as to the truth of what is being taught.

Muhammad stole and twisted much of Christian and Jewish beliefs as a way of gaining power and being a corrupting influence. If Islam is allowed to expand its corrupting influence they will force people to convert or die by the sword. Read and study it for yourself, don't take my word.

Islam is evil, deceptive, and a force that must be stopped.

America don't continue to sleep. Don't let those who perished on 9/11 be in vain. We must be vigilant and vote in strong representatives who will stand for what America was found on. We cannot have our government sweep aside our constitution.

We must return to our roots of a country grounded on God's Word. We must not let the left, liberal media, or organizations like the ACLU dictate what we should believe. If you don't like America, then try another country. I guarantee there is no better place on Earth.

Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.4
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8593498008857849031.post-85691129453788584662011-08-13T11:06:00.001-07:002011-08-13T11:06:06.830-07:00Can America Wake Up?Can America wake up from its listlessness? We have lost our moral ground, our sense of community, and our desire to be a true beacon in a world becoming darker with each passing day. We were once called a sleeping giant that Yamamoto warned Japan about before the attack on Pearl Harbor. We get attacked and we beat the ceremonial drums for a short time then go back to sleep. Our military - may God bless them and keep them safe - is risking all daily while politicians play politics and are so concerned about their comfy offices. It doesn't matter what party they are all pathetic and need to be voted out. This garbage of life-time/career politicians needs to stop. They are strangling America. Wake up America, we can do better.
Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.4
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8593498008857849031.post-46826250397314679322011-04-23T18:49:00.001-07:002011-04-23T18:49:53.396-07:00Why do Christians act as though Jesus hasn't risen until resurrection Sunday?I ask the question only because of a couple of e-mails I received from some co-workers. They act as though Jesus has to be risen anew each year, when in fact he already rose 2000 years ago. What is man messing up so bad in Jesus' church that there are saints that either forget or deny this fact.

I pray for these people that the Holy Spirit will do a work in them to correct this misconception. We should be celebrating daily that our Lord rose exactly as He had foretold throughout the Old Testament and came to past in the New.

Have a blessed day each and everyday knowing our Father in heaven is in total and complete control.
Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.8
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8593498008857849031.post-22663746777412956542010-06-12T23:19:00.001-07:002010-06-12T23:19:07.185-07:00Christians in America – WAKE UP and Pray for Israel!!!
Are you praying fervently for Israel? If not then you should be.

Are you praying for an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to impact our government officials? Then you should be.

I can’t believe the naivety of this President’s administration and their liberal cohorts to be blaming Israel for the flotilla fiasco. Get “real” people, wake up and smell the coffee…these protestors were deliberately trying to instigate a reaction from the Israelis and the IDF. So they could play the poor martyr. I don’t have any sympathy for them as they knew precisely what they were doing. They wanted to increase a negative world opinion of Israel. Unfortunately we have a naive man in the White House who will listen to the poor advice from other anti-Israel members of his cabinet and staff to put pressure on Israel. Woe to him if he tries to use this situation to blackmail Israel into concessions for peace in the middle east (see WorldNetDaily’s story “Obama using flotilla fiasco to blackmail Israel?” http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=161793).

Apparently, this man – as well as several of his predecessors - has not sought out the scriptures as to who has been granted access to the land and how much of it. I’ll give you a hint, it isn’t the Palestinians. God gave the land to Israel and no human government will ever be allowed to overstep God’s rule. Oh they might for a season, but in the end God’s plan will prevail.

Please continue to pray for Israel’s protection and wisdom for their leaders. May Christians around the world, especially in the United States, continue to lift up Israel. We also need to pray and put pressure on our governing officials that they need to continue to strongly support Israel. They also need to reject a two-state solution as that will never work. The Palestinians and Muslim countries surrounding Israel want nothing less than the total destruction of the Jewish state.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8593498008857849031.post-56821582540256810982010-06-01T22:33:00.000-07:002010-06-02T22:33:23.566-07:00Dividing the Word of God
This entry does diverge off of my normal conversation a bit, but I have to ask a question…

Why does it seem that so many Christians here in America seem to think it is okay to sit under a pastor or leadership team that consistently takes verse from the Word of God out of context?

Now that might be a broad sweeping statement and it certainly doesn’t mean every pastor/teacher is doing that by any means. It also is not to be reflective of an occasional mistake being made, which anyone can be made. I know I have done it and had to repent from those errors, but I have seen well meaning Christians sit and nod their heads like so many dashboard doggies on every word from the pulpit and apparently not studying the Word to ensure that it was divided correctly.

Is the Body of Christ in America that lazy that they do not search out the Word daily to see if what they are being told is true?

It maybe that these teachers are not even aware of what they are doing, but if they are shepherding their flock should they not be more diligent?

I am not writing this to cast a stone at these teachers as they may be well meaning teachers, but we should be praying for them that the Holy Spirit will work in their lives and help them to divide the Word clearly. If it takes longer to cover a topic then they should not rush the teaching of God’s Word.

If you know of a situation like this, begin praying for the Holy Spirit to work in their lives to help them divide the Word clearly and correctly, but also ask the Holy Spirit to give you discernment when these things are happening. If something doesn’t fell right in your spirit, then check it out, dig into God’s Word, be a Berean and see if it is true. You will be amazed at the growth in your walk. Just as we pray for the Body of Christ, our nation, and of Israel.

May God our heavenly Father direct your path and may you listen carefully to that still small voice.

Amen
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8593498008857849031.post-81563805331073765902010-03-15T21:43:00.001-07:002010-03-15T22:00:38.191-07:00Wanting to go to the Holy Lands…
If you had asked me 17 years ago if I ever wanted to go to Israel, the answer would have been a resounding “No”. Why, you may ask, since my blog is so geared towards Israel? Well, first 1994 is when I came to the Lord and a few years after that with God working on me I came to the knowledge of the importance of Israel to God. Now I am an advocate for the churches to understand that we (the church) have not replaced Israel (churches teaching a replacement theology are not just wrong and are perverting God’s Word) in God’s plans.

So back to the point of wanting to go to the Holy Lands. It’s not just for sightseeing, but rather to get a more visual of the land God talks about in His Word. I have talked to more people that have gone and come back describing how much more their study experiences are enhanced by the trip. Since that is one of the things I enjoy doing is studying God’s Word, I want to travel to Israel and see the land that my Jesus will be reigning over upon His literal return. I know there will be differences but to be in such an awesome place is awe inspiring to me.

I have heard of several churches and teachers that take regular trips to Israel and may hook up with one of them at some point. One sad thing I just found out recently was that a teacher I admire, Chuck Missler at Koinonia House (http://www.khouse.org/), is going most likely for his final trip this year. I am praying for a way to go but if it doesn’t happen God has a better plan than I could come up with it so I leave it in the Master’s hands.

If you have been to Israel on a trip, leave me a comment on your thoughts. What you found interesting. What changed you because of your trip.

God bless.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8593498008857849031.post-7478301179296644762010-01-16T10:58:00.001-08:002010-01-16T10:58:49.225-08:00Pray for Israel and that the world is not allowed to carve it up to create a Palestinian state.
Remember to pray for wisdom and God’s intervention that any attempt by world leaders, including plans being promoted by Barak Obama, are stopped to prevent Israeli territory being handed over to her enemies. The news agency around the world continue to call for a two state solution to end the violence and unrest in the Middle East. World leaders are trying to bully Israel into agreeing to a two state solution, but trust me it will not solve the problem.

Israel has tried land for peace in order to stop the violent attacks by terrorist groups, such as Hamas and Hezbollah, but it hasn’t. The nations around Israel – for the most part – do not recognize Israel and do not want it even to exist. But, exist she does, because of God’s covenant with His chosen people they are being brought together again in the land promised to Abraham. This has all been foretold in God’s Word.

Unfortunately, what the world doesn’t understand is that the land promised to Israel is far greater than the territory they currently occupy. The nations around Israel are no doubt aware of this as well, which is why they will always continue to push back against Israel and have the undeniable desire to end her existence.

Israel has been distrustful of Christian motives, because of the Jewish persecution at the hands of “the church” through the centuries. Now is the time to put the past behind and pray for Israel’s safety every single day. We – Jews and Christian – serve the same God and we need to understand if it wasn’t for the Jews we (Christians) would not have our Messiah. We need to continue to pray, for we know that the victory has already been won and Israel will end up occupying all of the land promised to Abraham and his descendants.

We must not become silent and sit around while world leaders use their political and economic muscle to force Israel into an agreement that we know is wrong. We are called to PRAY.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8593498008857849031.post-59694521134795540262010-01-16T10:28:00.001-08:002010-01-16T10:28:20.901-08:00Ten Commandments continue there winning streak…
Well another win for Judeo-Christian values has occurred. The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has extended the winning streak back to 2005 according to an article appearing today in World Net Daily.

Joe Worthing’s – Executive Director for the Moses Project – made a great statement regarding the ACLU…

"The ACLU is not the problem [with removing the Ten Commandments from America]," Worthing told WND. "We need to send them a thank you. They awakened a sleeping giant."

Take a look at what the Moses Project is doing. Imagine what the impact would be in America if every Christian church and family made the decision to display the Ten Commandments?
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8593498008857849031.post-53258938271164091592009-12-01T07:26:00.000-08:002009-12-01T07:26:38.559-08:00Logos 4 is "Really" Bible Study Re-imaginedHaving used Logos 3 for about 6 years getting an opportunity to get on the ground floor for the introduction to Logos 4 was a great experience. Although the first look is nothing like Logos 3, which was a bit confusing on first glance, once you took the time to see what was done you get a great appreciation for the elegance of the interface. Logos has always been very customer centric, but with a distinct eye towards the future. The Logos 4 release provided for some very great improvements with a sleek and elegant interface. The ability to spread windows across dual monitors is a great addition. Logos does give fair warning that the startup takes time, which is due to the massive indexing the program does on your library. The word for word indexing takes a long time, but the value is there when you can have thousands of matches on a search in seconds rather than minutes. There are some functions not quite ready for release, but Logos has created an approximated timetable to get those released. One side note is that Logos was based on the capability of systems around 2 years old or newer to run. I have been running on a 5+ year Dell D505 without a hitch and the speed is fine, so I don't see it as an issue.

All in all, Logos 4 is a vast improvement over Logos 3. I am all for investing in Biblical studies and what Logos 4 offers is a definite plus to anyone's desire to study. So head over to http://www.logos.com/4 and watch the demo and see where Logos can take your Bible Study.

Search the scriptures, look at the original language, you will not find any place where God has specified that the advent of the "church" that it replaces God's plan for Israel. God has a plan for both Israel and the Church. They are both distinct and important in God's plan.

Some people point to particular covenants to prove their point at best, or at worst rewriting God's Word to bend it to their viewpoint.

I plan to cover more of this in future posts. The purpose is not just to have another Christian blog, but to have a blog dedicated to the glory of God. To encourage spiritual growth through the studying of God's Word, but also to develop watchmen for the wall...

A watchman by definition is: One who guarded or watched over a city or harvest field. Because of the danger of being raided, every Palestinian city or village had a watchman, especially at night. These watchmen were stationed on the city walls (2 Sam. 18:24), a watchtower (2 Kin. 9:17), or a hilltop (Jer. 31:6). Watchmen were responsible for reporting any hostile action or approaching suspicious person. These watchmen sometimes patrolled the city, called out the hours of the night, and especially looked forward to dawn (Is. 21:11–12).

At harvest times watchmen guarded the crops at night. Israel’s prophets were responsible for watching for impending divine judgment or blessing (Is. 21:6; 52:8; Jer. 6:17) and bringing the news to the people. Watchmen are sometimes referred to as sentries and lookouts.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever.
